A newspaper is a paper that carries various kinds of news to us. It is a store of knowledge. We can know the situation of our country by reading the newspaper. Some prominent newspapers in Bangladesh are the Ittefaq, the Prothom Alo, the Jugantor, the Inqilab, the Daily Star, the Independent, the Bangladesh Observer, etc. A newspaper contains all sorts of news and views: market news, political news, sports news, news of discoveries and some strange news. A newspaper covers various sorts of news which are important for the nation. Its contents are very helpful for building up a developed nation. Newspapers are very useful to all kinds of people. It also contains current views on current topics. A newspaper is the cheapest means of mass education and communication. It gives us both pleasure and knowledge. It also helps to form public opinion, Despite the great importance of the newspaper, it has some demerits. Sometimes, false and motivated news are published which create misunderstanding in society. Modern life is not possible without a newspaper. A newspaper is a mirror of the world. The role played by the newspaper in making a nation is really great. False and partisan news should not be published in newspapers. The journalists, the editors of newspapers and the government should be conscious of this.
