Population Problem In Bangladesh

Overpopulation means too many people who are more than necessity. Bangladesh is an overpopulated country. More than 1000 people live in a square kilometer. A large number of people are living below the poverty line Civilian labour force is nearly 60 million. 80% children of Bangladesh suffer from different types of malnutrition. The present growth rate is 1.5%. If it continues, the population of Bangladesh will be 210 million in 2020. There are many causes of overpopulation. These are lack of consciousness, illiteracy, religious misinterpretation or superstition corruption, love of male child, early marriage, etc. The effect of overpopulation is dangerous. Terrorism, natural disasters, violence, robbery etc are rising due to overpopulation. Moreover, overpopulation is responsible for the decrease in cultivable land. As there is excessive pressure on land for human settlement, our land is decreasing at an alarming rate. As new roads, markets and houses are being made on our land, the number of the landless people and slum dwellers is increasing day by day. The Government of Bangladesh has taken various steps to control overpopulation. But this is not sufficient. If the people of Bangladesh are not aware, this problem will not be solved.
