The name of our country is Bangladesh. It is in south-east Asia. It became independent in 1971. Its area is 1,44,000 sq. kilometers. About fifteen crore people live here. Most of them are Muslims. There are Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians. All of us live in peace and harmony. The main occupation of our country is agriculture. Our land is fertile, Different types of crops, fruits, plants, etc grow here. The natural scenery of this country is dazzling. Nature shapes our life. It offers everything with its bounty and munificence. We have a glorious past. Our people fought for the mother tongue in 1952, 21st February, 26th. March 16th December is our national day. Pohela Baishakh, Eid, Puja, Christmas day are our national festivals. The people of our country are hard-working and industrious. We love our country. We are trying hard to improve this country.
