A village market is a place of a village where villagers gather to buy and sell their daily necessaries. It is an important place to the villagers. It sits once or twice in a week. It sits in an open field. It also sits on the bank of river or canal. It sits such a place where the villagers can come and go easily. Usually a village market lasts 5 or 6 hours. It sits in the afternoon and breaks up at dusk. Different kinds of daily necessaries are sold here. Vegetables, fish, oil, milk, fruit, rice, sugar, cloths etc. are sold in the village market. A village market plays an important role in economic sphere. In the village market, villagers can sell their hand-made foods and goods. As a result, they can improve their financial condition. On the other hand, they can buy their daily necessaries from the village markey easily. It saves their time and money. A village market has some social values. It becomes a meeting place. Villagers can get opportunity to exchange their greeting. They can meet their kith and kin. Thus, it plays a vital role in the life of the villagers.
