To be a complete person one has to have a good and presentable etiquette and manner. Etiquette and manner are two basic terms to describe our social behaviour. The word etiquette is a French word referring to the rules of correct behaviour in society. The word 'manner refers to the behaviour considered to be polite in a particular society or culture. Etiquette and manner are very closely and deeply related to each other. In fact, these are two types or ways of measuring the standard of human attitude and behaviour. Both etiquette and manner are part and parcel of human nature and character as well. A person's personality is made up of his/her knowledge and practice of etiquette and manners. So, one should be familiar with the etiquette and manners from the early stage of life. That is to say, family is the first place for a person to learn etiquette and manners and parents are the first teacher in this regard. Moreover, society, and educational institution can also play a vital role in teaching these two important things. As etiquette and manners vary from society to society and culture to culture, learning etiquette and manners means learning about different society and cultures as well.
