Every nation has some remarkable days. As an independent nation, Bangladesh is not an exceptional to it. The 16" December is regarded as our Victory Day. It is a red letter day in the history of Bangladesh. The Victory Day of Bangladesh has long history. The history of bloody struggle of our nation is involved in the Victory Day. The struggle that began through language movement for realization of demand was ended through freedom fighting in 1971. On the 25 March night in 1971, the Pakistani army launched an inhuman attack on the innocent and peace loving people of Bangladesh. They killed thousands of people and raped innumerable women, They also killed hundreds of intellectuals of our country. They destroyed thousands of villages. They disrupted our roads, railways, waterways and airways. But our freedom fighters protested the Pakistani army strictly. The Liberation War began in full swing. It lasted for nine months. At last, the Pakistani army surrendered to the freedom fighters unconditionally. On the 16 December in 1971, Bangladesh became free from the enemies. We became able to write the name Bangladesh as an independent country in the world map. The importance of the Victory Day beggars description. It is a day of great achievement for us. Our nation has been considered as a heroic nation amongst the nations of the world. We have started our glorious advancement from this historic day. Through Victory Day, we achieved our independence. This day has given us opportunity to raise our head amongst the nationals of the world. The dignity of Bangladesh has established all over the world on account of the day. We have become able to make known ourselves as heroic nation. This day has given our nation the rights of survival. Every year the 16h December comes with great significance. We respect our martyrs who laid down their lives for this Victory Day. The oath of this day should be establishing corrupted free and prosperous Bangladesh.
