A rainy day is generally dull and gloomy to all but someone can enjoy it. It is a very familiar sight in our country. It usually occurs in the rainy season in our county. The sky is overcast with clouds. In this season, there is heavy downpour of rain. Sometimes it may lessen for the time being. So the density of rain may vary from one hour to another. Sometimes it is a heavy shower. Sometimes it is a drizzle and sometimes gusts of wind blow. Then the rain-drops are swept around. They might enter the rooms if the windows are by chance open. Sometimes thunder rolls and cracks. Lighting flashes in the sky showing a zigzag light across the dark sky. Roads and streets go under water in most areas of the cities and towns. People move along the roads with umbrellas. Rickshaws are not easily available in the rainy day. If they are available at all, the rickshaw-pullers demand high fare. Buses are much too crowded. Taxis are also scarce. Office-goers and students suffer much on a rainy day. Those who do not use umbrellas or rain-coats are wet through and through. Students generally want to enjoy a rainy day. Because in a rainy day, classes are rarely held. They can spend their time gossiping. They can make frolic and merry. Poor people and day-laborers usually do not find any job. They spend a sad day without income. Even domestic animals, birds and beasts are put to much trouble on a rainy day. Only the rich people are able to enjoy such a day. Because they do not have any urgent duty and have to earn. People having poetic minds find poetic inspiration on a rainy day. They love to hear the romantic and rhythmic sounds of dropping rain. But most people suffer a lot. They cannot go out to their work. They are to starve then. Birds and animals are seen drenched in rain. Thus a rainy day is a sorrowful and gloomy day the poor but an enjoyable to the rich.
