A Trip to a Village on a Holiday Composition

A Trip to a Village on a Holiday

A trip to a village is peasant and interesting. It gives one an opportunity to cast a short and quick glance at the beauty of nature. Once I had an opportunity. I have a bosom friend living in a village. He often insisted on my visiting his village home. But for various problems, I found no time to agree with his request. At last, in the last summer vacation, I paid a visit to his village home. The trip and my stay there gave me boundless and heavenly joy.

At 8 am, I started my journey by bus from Dhaka City. My bus passed through the Ashulia Industrial Area very well without facing any traffic jam. It crossed Bypile Turn and ran towards Chandura. I found the largest Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ). Then I saw the beautiful Bangladesh Krira Shikhkha Protisthan (BKSP) at Zirani, Savar. Crossing Zirani, I found a vast scene of trees and fields on both the sides of the road. It brought me to an unknown world. It was a world of nature. It appeared to me a land of dreams. The green fields gave me inexpressible joy. My heart began to dance. The hedges, bridges, mills, factories, trees, buildings, houses and meadows ran back. I peeped out and found some boys running under a mango tree and picking mangoes. Soon my childhood days flashed upon my inward eye. I longed for nothing for those days. Those free and golden days had gone and never to return. I sank into oblivion and felt drowsy.

At least after two hours, the bus passed Alenga Bazaar. While passing, I found some beautiful resorts full of natural atmosphere including Jamuna Resort. I felt impressed. But my extreme joy and astonishment was waiting for me. It was undoubtedly the Bangabandhu Jamuna Bridge. I heard and saw the picture of the bridge before. But I never saw it before physically. My bus was running to the Toll Plaza. Reaching there, it stopped and collected the toll ticket. It then entered the bridge area. Both the road sides seemed to me wonderful. The trees, flowers and other objects appeared to me astonishing. Then the bus mounted on the bridge. I tried to look through both sides. I found the natural picture of the widest river, The Jamuna. I found the current of the river running very swiftly under the bridge. I found the Eco Park at the western part of the bridge.

My bus began to run swiftly towards Rajshahi, Bogra, Pabna High Way. It reached Sirajganj Road and stopped before an aristocratic restaurant named Aristocrat. The passengers refreshed themselves in this restaurant. Then the bus started again at 10.30 am. My joy knew to bounds when I knew that our bus was running to the Chalan Beel, the largest one in our country. At last, reached Mohisluti Bazaar where I got down according to my friend's direction. I saw my friend, Moynul waiting for me with two of his village friends. I was introduced myself to them. They warmly welcomed me. They took me to a restaurant nearby and entertained me with sweets and snacks. I felt a relief of the strain of the journey.

Till then I could not understand what a thrill was waiting for me! We had to cross at least two kilometers by boat through the Beel. The sight of the fishermen ignoring the scorching heat of the sun impressed me. However, within some twenty minutes, we reached Debipur where my friend's younger brother was waiting for us. He greeted me showing great respect. I reached my friend's village home. His parents received me with warm affection. They have two houses made of mud and thatch. The room where I slept and passed two days was comfortable. The gentle wind coming from the south easily lulled me to sleep.

I passed some days experiencing boundless joy at this small village. I ate ripe mangoes to my heart's content and visited different places. I was entertained with different kinds of dainty foods. I went to the nearby Dobila Bi-lateral High School field and took in fresh air. At last, I left for Dhaka with a very happy but heavy heart. My friend, his younger brother, father and his village friends saw me off at the Mohisluti Bus Stand. My trip to the village and stay there are indeed unforgettable.
