The education system today and the system in the time of our grandparents are obviously different. In the time of our grandparents, there was the want of educational institutions. Students used to read a few subjects for a particular class. But at present, a student has to read more subjects with a larger syllabus. Besides, students now have to take some additional courses. In some cases, they have to participate in different extra-curricular activities. Sports, study tours, debating, etc. give them extra facilities. Education is now very competitive. The areas of study have also diversified. A subject is being divided into more specialised courses. At present, books are also available. A student gets sufficient books on a particular subject. Besides, without going to the educational institution, a student can get education from online. The merit evaluation system has also been changed. The grading system has already been introduced in S.S.C. and H.S.C. instead of the divisional system. Thus education system is far more complex and comprehensive than it was in the time our grandparents.
