There are different kinds of flower in our country. They are different in size and color. Some are large, some are small. Some are white, some are red. Some flowers smell sweet, some flowers are scentless.
The most common flowers of Bangladesh are the rose, the lotus, the marigold, the champa, the jasmine, the tagor, the bakul, the beli, the chameli, the kamini, the sheuli etc.
The rose is not our native flower. But it is now largely grown in all parts of the country. It is called the queen of flowers. The lotus is well known for its delicate perfume. It is also grown everywhere of Bangladesh.
The marigold has a bright color and a strong smell. It decorates our house. It blooms in winter season.
The Kamini is a very soft flower. The petals of it fall at the slightest touch. It scatters its fragrance over a vast area.
Flowers are very useful to us. It increases the beauty of nature. It charms us with its beauty and scent. We express our heart feeling presenting flowers to others. Bees gather honey from flowers and store it in their hives. We got honey from these hives. Besides, nowadays flowers are being grown in plenty for business purposes. A lot of people earn their livelihood by growing and selling flowers. So, flowers have much economic value also.
Flowers are the symbol of beauty and purity. They increase the beauty of our environment with their beauty, color and scent. We all love flowers very much.
