The usefulness of trees beggars description. They help us in many ways. They provide immense wealth with us. We get different kinds of foods and nutrition from trees. They give us various kinds of fruits, such as mangoes, jackfruits, black berries, oranges pine apples etc. These fruits make us healthy and protect us from diseases. Trees help us to exist on earth by taking carbon dioxide and giving off oxygen in the air. They give us shelter and shade. They make our land fertile and save the soil from erosion. They also give us timber which has great economic value.
Bangladesh is a riverine country. Our lands are very suitable for the growth of trees. Sea beaches, low-lying unused lands, sides of the highways and railways can be brought under the scheme of tree plantation. There are a lot of lands left unused in hilly areas. These lands can also be brought under tree plantation. Moreover, there are many places in the villages which can be used for tree plantation.
In our country, June and July are the most suitable period for tree plantation. Trees and forests have a great impact on climate. A country needs trees to ensure a cool and healthy climate for her people. If we destroy trees randomly, one day the country will turn into a desert. As a result, the country will face a great ecological imbalance. Ours is an agricultural country and our country is dependent upon agriculture. Trees keep our soil strong and save us from flood and many other natural calamities.
Our lives and environment largely depend on trees. So, to lead a happy and prosperous life, we should plant more trees.
