Patriotism is a wonderful feeling of love for country of a person. It is a type of willingness and spiritual urge to defend one's country from foreign attack. It is a celestial, pure and sacred emotion which inspires a man to sacrifice his life for his own country. It is an inherent instinct in a human being. It is one of the noble virtues of man. A true Muslim regards patriotism as an article of his faith. He believes, "Patriotism is a part of faith." A patriot loves his country from the core of his heart. He loves it so much that he is ready to sacrifice his every drop of blood for it. He always desires the welfare of his country. So he works day and night for it. But we should be aware of true patriotism and false patriotism. False patriotism impels a man to show his love for his country. Again, we should also dissuade ourselves from narrow patriotism. Narrow patriotism means hating other nations and showing a hateful attitude towards them. Adlof Hitler was one who had such quality. A totally unpatriotic man is a vile creature. Actually, a true patriot never dies. He is immortal. He always remains in the heart of the people of his country. Here we can mention our freedom fighters. They have won independence in 1971 for the love of patriotism. So we have to be inspired by patriotism and thus we may gain the fruit of liberty.
