Dowry is a heinous system in our society where parents of a bride have to give certain amount of money or certain quantity of property to the bridegroom for yielding their bride. The main reason of dowry is greed of some inconsiderate parents and their greedy sons as well as our social unconsciousness Bridegrooms and their parents take dowry illogically and forcefully and the parents of the brides are the victims of dowry. The poor parents are not able to fulfil the demands of the bridegroom and finally suffer a lot. The system has actually led us to a degenerated and sick society and thrown away all our humane characteristics and moral dignities. Moreover, since most of our parents are poor, majority people of our society suffer through a cyclical process. It is because the bad practice of taking dowry going on unhindered and it has now become an open secret. As a conscious person of our society, I vehemently protest against this social vice. The government as well as the people of our society should take pragmatic steps against this social frailty. First of all, we have to make our people conscious of this social curse.
