Subject : For sinking tube-wells.
Sir,
We, the inhabitants of Gunaritola, beg most respectfully to state that ours is a village of about five thousand people. It is a matter of great sorrow that there is not a single tube-well in the village. So, the people have to drink impure water of the ponds. As a result, many people often suffer from diseases like diarrhoea, dysentery, cholera etc. Sometimes they carry off a large number of lives. Only sinking a few tube-wells in the village may save many lives.
In the above circumstances, we pray and hope that your honour would be kind enough to sanction at least three tube-wells at an early date and oblige thereby.
