The situation, when we do not get any electricity, is called load shedding. Bangladesh needs 4,000 mw of electricity everyday, but our production is only 3,000 mw. So, there is a shortage of 1,000 mw of electricity. As a result, some areas suffer from want of electricity. Specially, the rural areas suffer much from this problem. Students cannot study because of load-shedding. They cannot prepare lessons and prepare themselves ready for exams. So, they cut a sorry figure in the examinations. Mills and factories cannot prduce due to shortage of electricity. As a result, the gross national products are very low. More power-houses should be built to solve the problem. Damaged power-houses should also be repaired for this purpose. More hydro-electricity projects should also be built to solve this problem. We must use it properly.
