Tea is a very popular drink that is drunk with boiled water. It is an evergreen plant. Generally it grows well in Bangladesh, Japan, India, Srilanka and many other countries of the world. It grows on the slopes of hills where water does not stand. The seeds are planted in March. The seedlings are planted five or six feet apart. The plants need damp soil, sun light and air. They are watered well. Warm climate is necessary for its growth. The tea branches are often cut off to produce more leaves. The plants do not produce much wood. Old leaves do not give good tea. Within a year leaves are collected three or four times. They are dried in the air. Bangladesh is one of the most tea produced countries in the world. Bangladeshi tea is very popular and well known. By exporting tea Bangladesh earns a lot of foreign currency every year.
